The fear behind the question
When operators ask about onboarding, what they are usually asking is: "How much work is this going to create for me?" The question comes from experience, new software, new logins, new integrations, tools that promise easy setup and deliver a month of configuration and troubleshooting.
Land AI's onboarding takes 7 days for most clients. Here is what happens on both sides of that timeline.
What the client does during onboarding
The client fills out one onboarding form. The form covers business details, where to send leads, and which counties to target. That is the client's primary active task during onboarding.
Everything else is handled by Land AI.
What Land AI does during onboarding
A2P compliance registration. Before any calls go out, Land AI handles A2P (Application-to-Person) carrier registration: brand verification, campaign registration, number registration, and state-specific compliance requirements are all submitted and processed by Land AI. This step takes the most time, carrier approval timelines vary, but requires nothing from the client. The client does not fill out compliance forms. The client does not interface with carriers. Land AI handles the entire process.
CRM build. While compliance is processing, Land AI builds the client's GoHighLevel sub-account from scratch. This includes pipeline structure, automation setup, routing logic, follow-up sequences, notification configuration, tags, and dashboards. The client receives a working deal engine, not a blank CRM they need to configure.
Data preparation. Land AI pulls property owner data for the client's target counties, skip-traces the list to add contact information, scrubs for DNC compliance and litigator history, and prepares the data for dialing. The client does not pull data, format spreadsheets, or manage skip-tracing vendors. They name the counties and Land AI handles the rest.
Slack setup. The client is added to a private Slack channel with direct access to the Land AI team. Campaign updates, lead alerts, and questions all run through Slack. No separate project management tool, no ticket system.
When live calling starts
When carrier approval clears, typically within the 7-day window, calling begins. The client's managed CRM is already built and ready to receive leads. There is no separate go-live process.
The first Pre-Qualified Leads that come through land in the client's CRM with full transcripts, motivation summaries, and routing notes. The client's Slack channel gets a notification. The client can click into the lead, review the transcript, and call the seller.
What "done for you" means in practice
Done-for-you means the client is not responsible for building or maintaining any part of the acquisition system. The callers are Land AI's callers. The CRM is built and maintained by Land AI's team. The follow-up sequences run automatically without the client configuring them. The data is pulled and scrubbed by Land AI. The AI qualification runs without client oversight on a per-call basis.
The client's responsibility is the close. They review Pre-Qualified Leads, conduct seller conversations, make offers, and manage deals through to closing. Everything upstream is handled.
This is also why onboarding takes 7 days rather than 7 weeks. The client is not learning a system they will operate. They are receiving a system that operates for them.
What clients who also run mail or text need to know
Some Land AI clients run direct mail or text campaigns alongside their Land AI channel. They can continue those programs exactly as they are. Land AI does not require clients to change or shut down any existing acquisition activity.
If a client wants to bring leads from their mail or text campaigns into the Land AI managed CRM to use the follow-up sequences, they can. The CRM is built to handle leads from multiple sources. But that is optional, clients keep their existing operations running as-is.
The one thing that takes longer than 7 days
Compliance registration can extend past 7 days in some cases depending on carrier approval timelines. When that happens, Land AI communicates the delay and continues building the client's CRM and preparing data in the background. The client does not need to do anything differently.
The 7-day figure represents the typical timeline. Land AI does not charge for any setup time or onboarding period, the client pays for the plan that delivers leads, and billing reflects when the system is live.
